After seeing these ladies in Philadelphia last night, I was left speechless.

I wrote these words..

Actual Air in tow.
Nowhere to go.
Am I a teacher or a critic?
A premature arthritic?

I just want to find something pure.
Life is full of legend and lore.
I'll give it a chance.

This time around,
I give my word I will dance.
This time I will dance.
I promise.
I will dance.
This time, it is my world to romance.

"Why does the sun go down at night?"-A child.

"Because it is time for the moon to take over for the night shift." -Me

Fear

Fear is irrational. I am a believer that all fear is a result of something that caused the fear. In order to get rid of fear, we must confront the things that we are afraid of, head on.

When I was a kid, I would have this recurring nightmare. A vacuum cleaner would be chasing me, trying to suck me up into its belly. I would run to my mother in the middle of the night, and she would tell the vacuum cleaner monster, which chased me, to "GO AWAY!" The vacuum cleaner monster would cooperate with my mother and do just that.

Last night, at least 20 years after I had my last vacuum-cleaner nightmare, I was watching the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. There is a scene in the movie in which a vacuum cleaner comes to life and attacks the little boy in the film. The boy's mother shouts at the monster.

"Go away!!!!!" she shouts.

Oh my gosh! My childhood nightmares were suddenly explained! I must have seen this movie as child, and totally believed that vacuum cleaners could come to life and chase people(and in my young mind, I believed that they could suck me up and transport me to some creepy purgatory inside of the vacuum cleaner)! My mother--in telling the vacuum cleaner monster that I dreamed up to "go away"--was simply re-enacting the scene in the movie in order to allay the fears of her oldest son!

So the moral of this story. All fear is caused by something. Fears don't just happen. Sometimes the causes of fears will directly confront you when you least expect them to, and in doing so explain how irrational they were in the first place!

Maybe you will laugh in the face of fear.
Maybe, like me, you will say "EUREKA!!!! That explains everything!"

Vivian Girls and The Beets-Nightmare of Sound Tour: The Official Video.

The second night of the tour was rad. The Beets have nothing to do with the band from the classic Nickelodeon TV Show, "Doug," but they are still quite good.

Empire of the Sun: Walking On A Dream

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmM2RwlxGt0

How can I explain

Talking to myself
Will I see again

We are always running for the thrill of it thrill of it
Always pushing up the hill searching for the thrill of it
On and on and on we are calling out and out again
Never looking down I’m just in awe of what’s in front of me

Is it real now
When two people become one
I can feel it
When two people become one

Thought I’d never see
The love you found in me
Now it’s changing all the time
Living in a rhythm where the minutes working overtime

Catch me I’m falling down
Catch me I’m falling down

Don’t stop just keep going on
I’m your shoulder lean upon
So come on deliver from inside
All we got is tonight that is right till first light
