I've kept this blog going as a hobby.  In 2015, I worked.  A LOT.  I got very close to getting promoted at my job.  It was an honor just to be considered for a Human Resources position.  I've sacrificed a lot in my life.  I found some true hipsters.  

I've been working 55 hour work weeks. Difficult stuff.  Still, I can appreciate a music video every so often.      

Is early December too early for year-end lists? I think my top three this year is more surprising than usual.  Here are some favorites.

It's a really sad day for rock fans, since Scott Weiland is no longer here. Everyone just loved THAT VOICE. I saw Velvet Revolver once with my brother and cousin.

It has been a tough week for music fans, and I was so taken aback by the events in Paris that I could barely even write or talk about it.  

Love prevails.     

Oh, Coldplay.  as maudlin as they got, they had their moments.  New stuff from them coming soon.  

Bloc Party (that band that everyone, even my mainstream room mate, loved after one album but then became my personal most disappointing band ever)  is actually still making music.  Gone are the majority of founding members and they added a female and one of the guys from Menomena.  The result is passable and the video is entertaining.

Joanna Newsom is back in a big way with Divers.

I really want all this hurricane business to just literally blow over.  My Morning Jacket released a new album this year.  

It is such a relief when the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are over.  I am no longer being judged and atoning.  That being said, I am still on my best behavior.  Don't say or do stupid things.  What is common sense for one is not common sense for others, apparently.

I'm really liking the new album from Ought.  A lot of everything I ever liked about really offbeat indie. I even mentioned the Fall when I first heard this album.  The Fall, more than David Byrne.  

I've always liked this guy. 

Looking forward to reading the feature on this guy in the Times.

I'm REALLY looking forward to new stuff from Disclosure.  I'd consider seeing them live, but getting hot and sweaty with people who are probably on something doesn't sound as fun as it once was.

So much controversy surrounding this dumbly-named band who didn't even realize how dumb it was to name their band that, but interesting musically.

Hey I always loved Real Estate, so happy to see that this guy is releasing stuff outside of what he does with that band.

The Elliot Smith comparisons were there for his first one, but this guy is himself enough to make me want to see what the rest of the album is about.

"I want to go out, but I want to stay home."   

That is basically my life too.  It usually ends up being staying in 99% of the time.  Such is the life of a working person.  And by going out, I mean Whole Foods with my mom or something.

I've cried because of the beautiful and life changing albums New Order supplied me with.  Apparently they're still at it with this new one.

So Deerhunter was my biggest obsession when Cryptograms came out.  I have subsequently seen them live twice, and one of my reviews for one of their shows got published.  Welcome back.  First stuff from them in a few years.

I totally stopped a guy dead in his tracks from my job the other day for being intolerant.  There are some dumb folks out there, really.  

Yesterday, I missed a call from my dermatologist, probably regarding the biopsy I had done.  I called back today hoping that the missed call wasn't for some diagnosis I didn't want to hear.  
They didn't have the results yet, but I really do value and love each day I am given.

Follow up:
Atypical mole, moderate.  Not cancerous, requires follow up within a year.  

It is hard to follow up a post about something as tragic as a senseless murder fueled by hatred at a gay pride event.  Sometimes music, as weird as it gets, especially in this video, does help for some of us.  New stuff from Autre Ne Veut.

It is disheartening to hear about recent events in Israel involving murders that happened at a gay pride parade in Jerusalem.  I can't change everyone's opinion or anything, but tolerance is definitely what we are looking for.

So, I just went on Facebook for about a minute to see something, and it has done absolutely nothing for me except make me angry, so I de-activated again.

Also, my grandma celebrated her ninetieth birthday.  Her positivity and smile inspires me every day.  That's all folks.

There are some days that you think you've heard it all and nothing is going to excite you anymore, then Grimes releases something new and blows your mind.

Here's something new.  The Sea and Cake's Sam Prekop has a new solo album out.  

I make fun of Bethany from Best Coast because everything she writes seems to have druggy overtones, but I sort of miss it when she hasn't made an album for a while.

Damon Albarn has kept us listening with projects like Gorillaz, The Good the Bad and the Queen, and solo stuff, but a new Blur album is on its way.  First in 13 years.

Anytime something this funky is happening, I want to get moving.
