2025 came and went.  I got promoted to a supervisor position, only to receive an email on the last day of the year that everyone at my job will be laid off a few months into 2026.  

 Trying to fight against anti semitism often feels like a losing cause.  Every time you stand up for yourself and your own people, you get about fifteen "free palestines" or ten "Jews are the terrorists."  

Usually a whole lot of albums fly under my radar, but I have to say the great Jonathan Richman who fronted the Modern Lovers way back then released an excellent album this year that I have yet to really acknowledge.  That and the Mountain Goats who have been so ridiculously prolific released one that  demands more listens.  

Also, it has been clear to me that this has been the year of Cameron Winter/Geese, who rose meteorically kind of like a lot of the stuff I listened to in the early 2000's and who are being called the first generation Z band to achieve greatness.      

 My life has changed so much in recent years, but one thing hasn't changed.  Parties are still very awkward and something I try to avoid.  Yet, I did get invited to a party hosted by a girl maybe a bit more than ten years younger than me.  Yes, it is awkward, but I suppose I manage the awkwardness a bit better in my late thirties.  I am just wowed at how different people are than I was when I was in my twenties.  

Still, I guess some people invite a lot of people of the opposite gender to their parties, even though they have someone already. Well, at least I got some experience playing pool.  

 So, it's a pre-owned 2023 Suburu Legacy.  My new girl.  I touched her butt (the bumper).

RIP my car

 RIP my car.  It's just a piece of metal with some wheels on it, but it did what I asked it to do since 2014, and then some.  No, I did not do anything ridiculous in this car.  I became a real adult in this car.  I posted the best ever attendance record Amazon had ever seen (HR even told me that), as well as winning attendance awards at my current job too.  This was the first car I paid for myself and paid to maintain myself.
