It's all rooted in rock music, and what Deerhunter/Atlas Sound does is a progression of that tradition, just a very unique reflection of that particular band that renders all efforts to categorize it as futile. Still amongst my favorites.

Changes for Sonic Youth

Everyone's talking about the Thurston/Kim split, which the media recently announced. Anytime a marriage ends, it is not a time to celebrate. If I feel bad for anyone, it is their daughter, Coco, who I am sure will be getting questioned a lot about her parents' marriage. Hopefully they will be able to talk things out and continue making music.
